How WE STARTED
Effe grew out of my experience working at my family business, Evans Leather Repair.
Effe (pronounced “Effie”) is named after my late yiayia, Eftihia.
In the 50s my papou immigrated from Greece and started Evans, a specialty leather repair shop in the Royal Arcade in Melbourne - it’s now run by my incredible mum, Jenny. Growing up around the workshop and later working there is what brought me to start Effe.
Working behind the counter at Evans, I was constantly exposed to incredible designer pieces - some in beautiful condition, others just needing a bit of love. That’s where my interest in collecting began, and where Effe naturally grew from.
I wanted to create a resale space that connected people to care and maintenance. Vintage pieces are so special - not just the iconic styles but the high quality materials, which if looked after properly can be be passed down from generation to generation.
WHAT WE DO
Effe is a curated space for preloved designer pieces. Some pieces are offered in their original Preloved vintage condition, while others have been thoughtfully restored through a collaboration with Evans Leather Repair.
At its core, Effe is about bridging the gap between resale and restoration, with a focus on longevity and care.
Whether you choose a Preloved piece or a piece from our collaboration with Evans Leather Repair, we’re always here to guide you on care and maintenance. All Effe purchases are also eligible for discounted repairs through Evans.
